3 Core Principles That Keep Me Motivated

The desire to stay motivated is an extreme aspect of maintaining success. As a young twenty-something I’ve begun to experience life’s affects and introduce myself to new ideas that have allowed me to pinpoint the direction in which I need to go. While I’ve been able to regenerate the need to stay motivated I understand that it might not be as easy for others to find innovative ways to stay on their A-game! As an intro to a brand new career based blog on FKTK I’ve listed 3 Principles that I feel keep me motivated to get everything I have done with confidence and precision.

FYI: I’m going to be basing a ton of new content/blogs on questions that are asked on my IG Live which you can find here: (https://www.instagram.com/tylersalaam/) Back to the article.

  1. Know your purpose

I cannot express how important this is. Purpose is the meaning behind why we do things. If someone has an important idea or desire to accomplish a goal identifying a purpose is extremely necessary. Here’s the deal: It’s important to know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and most importantly, How is it making you feel? Every time I embark on a new idea whether it’s professionally or creatively I always attempt to ask myself the same 3 questions. What I’ve found is by giving myself the room to think it creates a foundation for clear next steps. By putting the questions in your mind you’re allowing for the opportunity to process the things that are going on. Processing gives you enough room to contemplate these things you’ll be able to filter out what you want to do and how you’re going to go about doing it.

  2. Find Time to Do Things That Inspire You

Inspiration has a lot to do with following through on some of the projects we may attempt to embark on. When looking for inspiration I always advise people to refer back to knowing your purpose. Once a purpose is established the opportunity for inspiration is all in the action that is being performed when keeping a goal in mind.

For example, I spend a lot of my time making sure I’m inspired. Key activities such as working out, spending time with friends, being alone (Which I recommend heavily) I feel that it is my duty to find something that truly inspires me because it fuels my desire to work and learn. I find that anything that promotes me being a better version of myself is enough to inspire me and the things I’m attempting to do. As a naturally motivated individual I find power in being able to know my worth and how important my ideas can be for the things I’m about to embark on. Getting started is achievable if the right mindset is attached to the goal you’re trying to achieve.

  3. Put Action Behind Your Ideas

This is probably the most difficult to act upon. Lately I feel as if I’ve encountered a lot of people with awesome ideas. Each ideas has had the potential of changing the way people think, influencing the masses and creating conversation.

As an owner of two businesses my action to be motivated comes from wanting to succeed. While the goal is to succeed, I can fully admit that there are moments and challenges that have the ability to leave you confused, unmotivated, and even stuck. While this is a normal facet of life and business - this is only a test against yourself. Don’t let the negative thoughts affect how your potential could help change the world in a positive way. I look at self doubt as a challenge to see how you’re going to move forward to achieve the goal you really want to see happen.

If I could give any tip for putting action behind your ideas, I’d say start by doing research. Doing research always seems to make me feel more confident about an idea I may have. To properly execute every idea, I start by researching the topic and figuring out ways to make it my own. I’ll create an entire plan implementing my own information and seeing how it measures up. Some times it works, other times it helps me refine what I was attempting to do. Even if the progress is gradual the groundwork for putting action behind those ideas is what serves as being the most important.

Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to stay motivated because: You’re worth the effort. Everyone has the potential to be something or achieve a level of success. Measuring your worth against yourself is one of the best practices I’ve been able to adopt. With this I can confidently say that my idea regarding being motivated relies solely on what I’ve wanted to make a reality for me. The confidence that has been instilled in me has given me the opportunity to reach for the moon and shoot for the stars. Give yourself credit and no matter how quickly you achieve the goal - give yourself a pat on the back. You’ll get there.
